This was not the couple I was supposed to photograph in Washington.
No, seriously.
These two beautiful souls came to my rescue when my original couple canceled, and I was desperate to fill the spot. I only had 2 days available to do some Washington couple photos, and I had tons of film with me I was itching to use. I posted in a local Washington Facebook group and BAM.. Jin messaged me just a few minutes after! I can’t believe the universe was looking out for me when these two showed up.
Rocky coastal views, forests, crisp winter breeze, two beaming people and a bunch of real film to shoot on… what more could you ask for on the coast of Washington?
You know me… I am not content to have my couples stand in one spot and smile for the camera. Jin & Toby not only brought their own artistic flare to the session, but they were ready for adventure! They even wandered out onto the farthest rock formation into the water, balancing against the perfect sunset as I captured both film and digital images.
We played with lighting and movement to capture the adventurous spirit, and I swapped between both 120 & 35mm format film. A drone shot here and there, too, though the wind was fierce coming in off the water.
These are a mixture of Ektar 100 & Cinestill 400D. Developed by Reformed Film Lab, scanned/digitized by myself at home. Washington Couple Photos never did look so good on film.
